Great van and great article.

Departure angle is precisely why I opted to stay with the shorter van body. Even so, I manage to drag my custom rear bumper regularly; I'm thinking if I had the longer body style I'd not be able to get to some of my favorite campsites.

Sweet setup! Is your sliding door rubbing against the rear tire? Can you fully open it?

Not sure about OP, but my sliding door just barely clears with the following:

Stock semi-float 60
2" wheel spacers (UJOR)
method 701, 17", 8x170 pattern
35x12.5 toyo open country at 3

Someone somewhere perhaps on this very forum makes an extender just for this purpose---maybe MG Metalworks?

Yes I forgot to mention I also have a door extender from Timberland vans. Not a chance it would clear without it.

Very cool! Engage the Triton!

How do you like the Falcon Wildpeaks? I think those are going to be my next tire but maybe changing from LT295/70R18 to 285s. Taller but narrower.

www.mgmetalworks.com/hinge.pdf

I haven't made a hinge in years since a couple other companies started selling them. The instructions above are detailed enough for a DIY'er or fab shop to make it happen.
