Jeffrey - Your fourth shot looks like the same place we camp when we head up and down Hwy 395. The 'bama hills are one of our favorites.
Great photos too! How come mine are all fuzzy and washed out? Must be the weather
We'll be heading that way in a couple or three weeks and if you, or anyone else, are in the area maybe we can hook up.
Keep the great pictures coming!

Would one of you mind sharing the coordinates of that spot? I may be looking for a place to pull in around that area when I'm coming back from Zion after Thanksgiving. Looks like a great area to do some exploring.
I don't have any, maybe Jeffrey does??? But, it's more fun just to go to Lone Pine and follow the signs to Alabama Hills and explore a bit. Lots of places to set up camp out there.

Honestly, you don't need GPS #'s. Just head up Whitney Portal road out of Lone Pine (the only traffic light) about a mile and turn right onto Movie Road (very obvious turn). Then drive in to the Hills and look around. It's real easy and fun.

Just reviving this thread to give another plug for the Alabama Hills area.
Was coming home from Mammoth last night and got too tired to drive. So we just made it to Lone Pine, turned on Whitney Portal and headed out to find a nice spot. I was very surprised not to see any other campers out there on such a busy holiday weekend. At 10pm the moonlight was stunning and it was warm enough to walk around in a t-shirt. Can't wait to get back.
How any of the fee campgrounds in the area survive with this area nearby is a mystery to me. The scenery is beautiful and the camping is free.
