New addition to the van....

Newest addition to travel in the van...QuadroCopter. An eight rotor RC Helicopter that I will be using for low level video and photo. We do a lot of full size chopper work and half the time we can't get low enough to the ground or close enough to a building to get the shot I need. The camera when installed will sit in the open space below. Full pan/tilt & roll from the ground. Can be flown with live video feed through googles.

Looking forward to putting it to work.

Re: New addition to the van....

About 3lbs is max payload. Beer will be carried for sure!

It can fly by GPS routes so I will have to try that too! I can input GPS cords from the groud realtime.

Just took it for my first test flight with my wife's camera on it. Try to post a little video here shortly.

How much does one of those puppies cost? Too much just to be an RC toy I bet....

Re: New addition to the van....

I've wanted one of those (cheaper!) quadrocopters with the camera built in, ever since I watched this:

(BMX dirt jumping video filmed from the air)

Yours looks a little more intense, though Very cool.

Cheers!
Mike.

I see an opportunity for a new "app".
