Hello everyone! Ive been following this forum for a couple months now and have really enjoyed reading about everyones trips and seeing the exchange of information. I just picked up my Sportsmobile last month and look foward to seeing you all on the road!
Here is a couple pics. of my build so far...
Quick question regarding your tires - are they the Toyo MT's? if so, any comments on them so far? Just got back from Les Scwab looking at some tire options and will probably go w/ the Toyo MT's next month.
Yes they are. So far I love them, I dont even notice the noise over the engine unless i really try to listen for them. Took them all over Chloride road in death valley without ever going into 4wd as they have great traction. This week im heading for Tahoe and ill see if theres any snow.
Nice setup, it looks great. I noticed the two recovery points on the rear bumper. Did you spec that out? I speced them out on my build but a miss communication caused it not to happen.

I added a couple things to the front and rear bumpers, I dont remember how much it was for the recovery points in the rear. The rear bumper also has 3 hinge points both sides ,and a plate that will allow the tire carrier to hold a 37inch tire
Its a Lacrosse weather station on a removable bracket. The system is wireless and seems to be fairly accurate. Wind speed is close to my gps and speedo until about 62mph and then it falls off due to turbulance (I think). The rain guage needs to be reset after driving due to the bouncing on rough roads and i had to move the temp sensor away from the middle of the roof because the heat being radiated through the penthouse top.
