Re: New To The Fold

My evolving 4x in towing mode.

The interior is very close on the plan and schedule date. I'm doing layouts inside for what works best... for my needs.
I don't need an rv interior as I will pull a trailer, use it as base camp and venture out from there.
A motorcycle will fit in to the scheme.

Au contraire Mr. jage.

My Triumph Scrambler will fit behind my two rear captains, with its variable interior configurations.

Of course pictures to follow.

Please don't paint the van to match the trailer......how about painting the trailer to match the van!

Good man! Take care of that Brit Bike!

I've had 10 (9 Triumphs, 1 BSA) and still have one - a 70 650 w/sidecar.

LOL
Ya there is a trailer out there that would match my van fairly close.

This trailer though has some really good features that a lot of others don't.

Did I mention I'm color blind?

Re: New To The Fold

Iwas going to say if you made it all the way you are one hell of a driver. I have done this route a few times and the Rocks just before the top of the canyon are tuff on ktm 640 if you dont like rock. seems to always bottle neck the ride.

Be sure to check out the fit on the roof seal before departing SMB. My top does not seal on the right rear corner and hasn't since it was new. SMB said it would eventually conform to the roof contour. I suspect it can be adjusted but I haven't been close enough to Fresno to have them do it. It's no big deal but dust does like to come in at that spot.
Great color for not showing road grime! What's next?
This trail starts in Lovell Canyon on the back side of the Spring mtn range off of the Parumph/Vegas rd.
Very tight for a full size and truthfully I did not complete the trail (my 80" width kept me off of a tight rocky edge).

Thanks for the heads up on the top seal fitment. I will check it out.

Whats next?...
I have two additional 2010 factory captains for a quad seat interior. Fridge, inverter, ship to shore, power points etc...
I hope to finish by Christmas or early next year.

Last time I made it through the Red Rock cut was in my BII.
Yes the trail has eroded.

My van is now at Van Specialties for the interior. They do some quality stuff there.
Excellent alternative if you are a west coaster and go Quad Van.
Of course pics upon completion - maybe by new years...
My project started in Fed '10 on ordering the van till now to complete.

I have patience.

Re: New To The Fold

Vanspecialties... : ) the 24" bubble top for our van might be sittin' around the shop somewhere! They are installing the top, awning, and seat swivels sometime soon.

Happy trails,
thom

Re: New To The Fold

Just an update on my van interior.
My van is coming along well at Van Specialties. They are professional and fast.
They have taken my ideas and made them into reality.
Simple but trick.
My full size motorcycle fits in very smartly.
Have you ever seen a sleeper 4X4 van? LOL
Great work so far gentlemen!

Pictures soon - maybe by Christmas!
