New Westies and Campmobiles

Saw these new camper vans on the ex po. Maybe some of them will be offered in the US soon.

Pretty cool Westy on a MB Metris platform... the Marco Polo:

Mercedes Benz - Marco Polo | Westfalia Mobil GmbH

Then a Canadian Camper van to be slated to be released in the US and Canada. Also on the MB Metris platform. Meet Reimo:

Don't expect any 4x4 or AWD options for quite some time though...

I read an article that said there isn't enough of a market share for mini campers in the US... They sell better where streets are narrow and space is limited - Europe and S America... Once in a blue moon you see where someone has went to great lengths to import one to the US and they want $75k for it... If I was gong that route I would rather have a Toyota Hiace camper myself... I lived in one in NZ for a month last year.

Not enough market? Have you priced a beat up VW camper lately?

Market share ... don't you think VW would be selling new California vans here for $65k if they could?

They can, and they are. Microcampers are booming! There are lots of new companies converting them. Most folks aren't going to pay that much though.

So... you think microcampers are booming! in North America? ... you might want to fact check that. Sort of ironic to write that on a SMB forum, don't you think? Why are there small numbers of SMB's outside of N America? hmmm - I will let you figure that out for yourself.

I do, and they are. I fact check it by seeing National Parks and highways with more and more of them. Why ironic to write that here? Are we discriminating on camper van types now? You might want to fact check that there are more home builders here lately than actual SMB owners too.

Sounds like you need to ask yourself these questions "... where does a person find a new micro camper in the US?..." And "... why do I not see MY 2016 micro campers in the US..." and "... why are camper vans so expensive in the US..." "... why are micro campers still being mass produced outside the US ..." and "... what is the market share of these vehicles..."

Descrimination toward inanimate objects?
