Did you put Flue Additive in it ? if not start with some Stabil Now.. Assuming its a Gasser.. Also Change Oil and Flush the coolant system Before you start it up.

I live in Utah now. Smog is required in the county I have the van registered in. Utah recently got rid of mandatory safety inspections.
