Carrizo Plain, Central CA, along the San Andreas Fault

Campsite at Selby Campground on the west side of the Carrizo Plain.



The campsite isn't much to look at, but the reason for being there is the spring wild flower bloom. Fabulous time of the year to be there, this may very well become an annual event on our calendar!

Here is a view from above the valley looking to the east, the San Andreas fault runs along the base of the hills seen in the distance.



And here is a shot taken out on the valley floor. The camera doesn't do it justice, it was well worth the trip!

Almost forgot! We used our outdoor shower last weekend!

That's my buddy I've known since Junior High School. He was staying another night, further in to the forest, and he asked me for water to put out the fire where we stayed. I had no water jugs left. So I backed the van up to the fire pit and...
