Orcas Island and Cape Disappointment

Just back from 6 nights at Moran Sate Park on Orcas Island, WA after doing 3 nights the prior weekend at Cape Disappointment State Park, WA. Training trips for us and our 3mo old GSP brother and sister pups. Van build is fully sorted now, just waiting for my peas to drop before doing some real off-road camping With no natural predators the deer population is huge and unafraid on many San Juan Islands. Views from Mt Constitution never disappoint.

That moment after the engine goes quiet and the door opens in a new place.

WOW, nicely organized camp set up. Jealous...the moment my doors open and the kids pour out, camp is a mess. Nice work

For me there is nothing like throwing open the doors at dawn and watching the sunrise on the nearby mountains.....sorry about the big feet in the photo!

All the camp sites were full at New River Gorge, so we stayed in the parking lot lol

Southern Colorado trip early August

Needed to escape the smoke in Northern Colorado. 7 day trip in South Colorado, 2 days at Sand Dunes National Park (Harbor Freight Generators all around), 2 days in Mancos Colorado State Park (serene gem and not used), 2 days at Ridgeway Colorado State Park. Picture is at Mancos and LilBro in his chair.

Last week visited the southern access into the Seven Devil’s Mountains. Thought seeing mountain goats from my campsite was really cool (first picture and one is actually in that frame on the far slope). However, the next afternoon had a few walk into the camp site. Third picture actually shows the campsite with the van in the middle of the timbered bowl and the last picture just because I think it’s cool and it required some effort to get it.

Awesome. I’ve found the SMB to be capable of going to the designated dispersed campsites that everyone else fears driving into due to mud holes and such. The SMB just makes quick easy work of it and enjoys the site. It’s like special SMB only reservations.

Steven C,
Thought I replied to your post last night but the HERRADURA must have been in control.
Your gallery of 4 pictures are great. As a matter of fact I have them as all time great selection.
1) The true essence of SMB'ing is expressed in this photo
2) Such a health critter in camp......
3) Illustrating the immensity of Seven Devils...beautiful
4) Is now one of my all time top pictures it say it all, everything. I'm sure it's asking what are you doing in my camp?
If you send Christmas cards this has to be your 2021 card...sorry grandkids this is natures genius.

Where is & Devils ? I\being a fishing guy is there in the area?
