Just a few of my better campsites this season. First is of Silverhorn Campground in Banff NP (September, '22), second is near Pilot Peak Look Out on the Payette NF (August, '22) and the third is on the South Fork of the Salmon River Shiefer Campground (August, '22).

Yosemite Valley this past weekend. Sadly is was just above 32F, so the forecasted snow came down as rain…

the yosemite valley road is open??? i woudl have thought it was well closed for winter with the amount of snow in the sierras.

I could easily go via Mariposa/140 w/o ANY snow chain requirement. Via 120 they had requirements.

I used this website to check for requirements and it matched what Yosemite Valley had the same info, spot on:
https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov

Not my prettiest campsite pic, but it was nice to get out for a short trip after a couple months of being too busy. Washburn Campground at Hearst San Simeon State Park. Took a tour of Hearst Castle and had dinner at the Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill while we were there.
