In the Kaibab last week on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Not a Sportsmobile but it's all I got.

I realize this is a couple years old but +1 to son of a SD farmer.

We headed up to Alabama Hills on saturday and found a great spot hidden in the rocks, we lucked out on a holiday weekend to catch the spot as someone was leaving. Sunday we went for a hike and found a way better spot that was 4x4 access only so we packed up and moved camp. Plenty of open space for the pup to run around and no neighbors partying all night.

Love those tandem pictures. As much as I love travelling in my van I will always favor travelling with another vanner. We usually go out 2 to 5 vans out and always have a blast, big enough for good party but small enough that it's manageable...

But there's always room for exceptions

We were traveling Memorial Day weekend to visit the in-laws. We planned to stay at Bootleg CG off Hwy 395, just south of Walker Ca. Rolled into the CG around 4pm, found a it closed to us, bathrooms close due to busted water line water. Went to Topaz Lake NV to camp, found this and mosquitoes:

It was after 6pm,we moved on. Boondocking was our last resort, with no other CGs available without backtracking, and the ones by Markleeville CA too far for that night. We decided to head into the unknown, down Leviathan Mine Rd off Hwy 395, and found this. Just a wide spot, no improvements anywhere, had to dig a fire pit and clear some brush.

That's the Carson Range, Freel Peak, and Carson Valley below. South Lake Tahoe about 15 or 20 miles to the northwest. "The Shootist" country, if you know what I mean.
