1981 VW Vanagon Diesel. The diesel was a mistake. It was extremely noisy at highway speeds due to high revs, and the top speed was 65 mph. I can handle slow, but slow and noisy is too much. Just not a high enough progress-to-noise ratio.
In college I had a 1975 Westy but I don't have pictures handy. I'll have to dig some up later. That was the first "hit" that got me addicted to camper vans.

These are some of my old vans. First one was the '65 VW, had it for over 10 yrs and put thousands of miles on her and really regret selling it!
Next was the 78 VW Westy (also regret selling it) then the Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 (also regret selling it) then my 65 Econoline (also regret selling it) then my 2nd '65 Econoline Travelwagon (by this time I learned my lesson and haven't sold it)...

And the saga continued... Got myself a '69 and a '70 Econoline, both with popup roof. Again, I learned from previous mistakes and still have them although I might sell one of them since apparently I have too many vans!
