Sighting in Bellevue WA

Saw an older sportsmobile with fixed top at a Bellevue parking lot. Anyone on this forum?

I also have seen a burgandy SMB in Bellevue/Redmond, at Sears automotive.
I don't recall seeing another burgandy SMB... period.

Re: Sighting in Bellevue WA

I've seen a burgundy one driving around Kirkland a few times. Also saw a white one (4x4, PH top, ladder) leaving Monroe on 522 yesterday a bit before 6pm. My wife saw it coming through town that same morning - hope you had a good time in the mountains!

Mine's been pulling trailerloads of dirt all winter... time to spruce it up and get ready for some camping!!

Cheers,
Mike.

There was a burgundy one at the meet and greet this last fall. It is parked next to mine. I forgot the guy's name but he is on the forum.

Re: Sighting in Bellevue WA

That's a lot of snow!! I haven't skied in years, so I haven't been over the pass in the winter. I rode my motorcycle over last summer, and the air cooled considerably at the top of the pass (where, in fact, there was a Sportsmobile parked!) so I can understand how all that snow's still there. Highway 2 is incredibly beautiful through the mountains.

Anyway, my wife and I both thought that your van looked great! And you're re-doing the inside of yours yourself, I believe? We should swap notes sometime

Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Sighting in Bellevue WA

Hi Mike. Yes it was a fun ride and pretty views. Happy to swap notes anytime and the build continues. I am always taking something out and re-doing it. PM me sometime and we will catch up, maybe grab a coffee.

We are planning on riding that area on the bikes this year (GS1200) so if you know it well, I can pick your brain :-)

Re: Sighting in Bellevue WA

I'm afraid I don't know the mountains well at all - I was just taking the long/fun way to an event in Cle Elum I've been thinking of switching from street (Daytona 675) to dualsport, though, since a number of my friends at work have shown me photos of amazing rides along forestry roads and dirt tracks up there. It's painful having to stick to the pavement!

Coffee and van stories sounds good! I work in Kirkland, so I'll PM you when the weather gets nicer and we can stand around the vans and yack for a while.

Cheers,
Mike.
