Years ago I had an aggravating experience with a Toyota pickup and a funky 1157 taillight bulb. Every time I stepped on the brake pedal, the parking lights would come on. WTH?

1157's had two filaments. On mine, the brake light filament melted at one end, then swung down and was still hot enough to fuse itself to the parking light filament. Instant 4-directional brake lights! And it never blew a fuse. I was surprised the 1157's filament could take the load.

I just bought a 2006 E-250 today and when I first started her up the ABS light was on for a while. Don't know when it turned off but the whole ride home from the state I bought it in to the state I live in it was off. Don't know what the light means. Haven't looked it up.

ABS=anti-lock braking system. If you didn't know, there are sensors at all 4 corners that prevent the wheels from locking up and the vehicle loosing control.
if your light is on it means that something is faulty within that system and will not function properly, could just be a bad sensor or connection, a good diagnostic tool can determine. Many of us are staring at that light and as I said, my lights been on since I had new rotors and a free spin hub kit installed, I'm not too concerned, but will someday get it diagnosed and depending on what the issue is, get it fixed.

Mine will toggle on/off if the fluid is slightly low.
