Toys R us....

Spent some time at Cabelas and walked out with a new toy.

Re: Toys R us....

Ohhh ya baby! I have plans for this thing, can't wait to attach it to my fishing raft frame, not to mention to be wearing it with the chest mount option so I can get some killer video of me playing some "Steel" with my fly rod this fall.
Stay tuned...

Re: Toys R us....

Returned my new toy yesterday, the ease of filming with the chest harness was AWESOME... but the lag during playback was crazy. I updated via gopros website and then couldn't get it to stay on , for the 500.00 invested I was very disappointed!! I tried many different players and decided after all attempts failed, and reading all the bad reviews online..I returned it. I guess I'll just update to a newer "Olympus" my tough has never let me down.

Re: Toys R us....

I was more impressed with my GoPro White, but the Black had features I couldn't pass up. I traded up, only to be disappointed with the loginess of the software and the terrible battery life. Haven't done nearly enough to justify the pricetag, and I wonder if two Whites wouldn't be better in the long run.

Still, I didn't want to not have the 240fps if the opportunity comes up, or be shooting 5MP when I could be getting 12... when that perfect sequence pops up, there won't be time to run to BestBuy.

Re: Toys R us....

Speaking of Garmin, REI has 25% off sale going on for the GPSMAP 62 Series. The sale goes through September 2nd.

Re: Toys R us....

Probably never happen but when they come out with something I can see real time on my PC, I'll buy it. Besides the poor battery life, I'm not impressed with how minimal a rough trail looks through the Go Pro camera lens. It makes a 3 foot boulder look like a car can drive over it. Plus there are times when the camera moves or the sun degrades the image and I don't know it. I have yet to try the narrow view setting and hope that will work better. The battery is what it is and I keep a spare handy. The remote is nice for still shots but if the remote battery or the remote backpack battery dies, everything shuts down. Sometimes its just better to use my old Go Pro camera, turn it on and run it till it dies. My GP II just has too many batteries that all need to function for everything to work. I don't know how the newer cameras work compared to the Go Pro II.
