2010 - North to Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean

We are planning for a August 28, 2010 through October 3, 2010 trip re-visiting some parts of Alaska and then heading north to Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean.

We aren't planning a formal convoy or wagon train but you might want to think about heading north during that time frame and meeting somewhere on the way to Inuvik. The last leg of the trip will be flying into Tuktoyaktuk, spending one night and a couple of days there.

I know that we will ferry north and I know we will stop in Dawson for "Kiss the Toe" that is about all I know now.

It is a big trip, set far in advance, so I can come up with the funding.

Regards,

Keith

Having been there ten years ago, I don't think you can drive to Tuk in the summer. I think it is still just a winter road north from Inuvik to Tuk, that opens in December and lasts thru late February.

The drive from Dawson to Inuvik is very spectacular in the fall, and less dusty than in the summer months.

WOW... that sounds fun.

We have an Alaska trip planned for when we retire.... BUT we will nto be retired by 2010, and given the behavior of the stock market lately, it may be longer than we expected it to be before we retire.

I just asked my navigator if we could go on this trip, and understanding this is just the first time I have asked her, and I do have some time to continue working on her, at this point I am told we can't go.

Yep, the last leg to Tuk we fly. Haven't figured out what to do with the dog yet.

Keep working on her Greg! If the market continues it's course we can all go out with a great trip, coming home to welfare!

Keith
