Cell phones in Baja:
Your cell phone will work many places in Baja, especially AT&T, Verizon has problems.
You will have to contact your provider to set up your account for Mexico.
Data roaming is very expensive though so if you have a "smart phone" be sure to turn off International Data Roaming.
Here is another option: http://www.mexicosimcard.com/pages/faq

Re: 2014 BAJA Sojourn - "The best-laid plans..."
Work commitments have forced me to have to reschedule my time off and we will unfortunately have to remove our names from the list. Disappointed to say the least as this sounds like it will be an amazing and exciting trip.
To those of you going, enjoy, and we look forward to the trip reports and pictures.
Sadly,
Karl and Shara

I'm posting a newsletter here from Discover Baja. It contains some info on Baja and two of the places we will be visiting, San Felipe and San Ignacio. Also has gas prices, peso exchange and some other interesting info.

We can't make the whole trip, grandbaby is due Feb 27th. If she arrives on time I'm now hoping to meet up with you guys at L.A. Bay and the rest. Thanks for putting this together. Steve and Lil.

Get that baby out early (take expectant mother off-roading!) and joins us as soon as you can!

"I carry several extra Harbor Freight $1.50 LED Flashlights and offer them to the military guys - much appreciated and moves thing along. Of course we don't all need to do this..."
Been following this thread, thought I'd chime in. We can't make this trip but hope to join on another one at some point. We were down there years ago in a rented 30 ft RV from Cruise America (felt a little like a moving target) with our 3 dogs at the time, but saw our first SMB on that trip and hung out with the owner for a few days outside of Todos Santos and La Paz for carnival, can't remember his name, white van, dirt bike, we played some guitar, investing in or starting up a dirt bike shop or something??...if that rings a bell with anyone, let me know!! anyway this tip above reminded me of a tip we got from someone before our trip, have cold coke's on hand for the military guys, they really seemed to appreciate it and let us pass sometimes without an otherwise thorough search at some checkpoints.

Re: 2014 BAJA Sojourn - "The best-laid plans..."
Just a heads up that we will join the group in San Felipe Friday....can't get out of town Thursday. We'd love to join a trip to the water fall if we make it in time. Keep us posted.
