Re: 9 Day working road trip to San Fran from San Diego

I noticed the double van watermarks too Herb after uploading.....lol....

You should charter a chopper. It's the best part of my line of work. I go up every couple weeks or so for various projects. It never gets old.

Great pictures as always Brent. I loved the aerials of Morro Bay, we are dragging the kayaks up there in a couple of weekends for several days of paddling.

Morro was full of Kayaks on both my passes through there. Wanted to get on one myself!! Also the tour around San Simeon looked fun too.

Great looking photo trip, Brent. The aerial images are great. The ground images are good even with that brutal sunlight. I hate when that happens! Was this a paid assignment?

Re: 9 Day working road trip to San Fran from San Diego

Thanks Jeffrey. Most of the trip was for paying clients. I squeezed a few landscape images in between the jobs. I was hoping for more personal time but it ended up being mostly work. The schedule got switched so many times while on the road leaving me with very little time for myself.

I ended up shooting most of my landscape images out the car window, upper shell window or roof rack in pullouts along the way...lol. Not ideal but had to work with what I had....

Need to make a dedicated trip as I watched image after image go by while driving...

Re: 9 Day working road trip to San Fran from San Diego

Continued up the coast Kamikaze style to the Monterey area. Made a quick loop through the 17 Mile Drive for a site check and then up to the airport to catch a chopper flight.

Covered the Monterey and Carmel area by air and headed back to the airport.

Jumped in the van and headed to Santa Cruz to catch the sunset. Coming next….

Re: 9 Day working road trip to San Fran from San Diego

Landed back at the airport and headed straight for the Santa Cruz coast. Ended up getting stuck in a lot of traffic right at the edge of town and could not find parking where I wanted to shoot sunset at. Decided to just move up the coast as the last light was dropping.

Took a few images at one of the first pullouts outside of Santa Cruz and then stopped for a few minutes at the Pescadero Lighthouse.

Drove the rest of the way up to San Francisco RV resort that night which ended up being a great suggestion from the forum.

San Fran coming next….

Re: 9 Day working road trip to San Fran from San Diego

Pulled into the San Francisco RV Resort after dark and could hear the ocean but could not see it. Woke up in the morning to this out the windows. Spectacular way to wake up.

Then headed to the first day of a three day job photographing a newly constructed project for a long time client.

I spent each day driving back and forth to the RV resort and Giant stadium which only took about 15-20 minutes each way. Highly recommend the resort.

Had not time for personal shooting for the three days while up there.

Trip back coming next.....

View out my window in the morning:

Client project we photographed for three days:
