Thanks for all the great responses.

I'll be putting a tentative trip sheet together in the next week. One thing I want to change is to make our meeting time on Friday earlier to allow a leisurely trip to our first destination, and not get there in the dark. I'm thinking of a 9 AM meet time.

Can't believe I missed this thread. Sounds great! And I suppose if Jeremiah can come all the way from CO, I can make it from Tahoe. One question: anybody bringing kids?

I have an 11-year-old boy, who only wants to come (understandably) if there are other kids. Let me know... Thanks!

I'm near enough a kid to count. I doubt your son will be bored regardless, so I'd say bring him along.

Also even though this is a "forum" rally it's not intended to be excluditory- anyone else considered posting something on the yahoo Group so some of the unenlightened (heh heh) get a chance to attend?

excluditory (*k-sklūd'i-hwŏt-ĕv'ər) Intentionally intended to exclude persons or groups. A pretentious sounding, albeit manufactured, word useful when "exclusive" just won't quite do.

This is a REAL long shot of attending, but if I can work it out, where would you be staying Friday night. IF I can make it, I would be coming in late.

Phil, the plan is to drive quite a few miles of dirt road and climb over into Butte Valley for the first nights camp. Not a fun drive at night, but if you can find us.....

Thanks Jeffrey. Looks like I'll have to pass. I mapped out where you are heading and there looks like a fun alternate route in to Butte Valley from the west. If I had more time .....

Have fun everyone!

Yes, Phil there is the Goler Gulch route in to Butte Valley from the Panamint Valley. I've done it many times. I just don't think it's a good idea to drag all the SMB's through there. May be difficulties and washouts.

See ya when I do......

As much as I hate to do it, we are going to have to back out of this trip now . My sister just gave birth to her first child and my Dad will be flying out that weekend to visit his new grand daughter. So, I will be doing the family thing instead.

Jeffrey, thanks again for setting this trip up. I really wish we could make it, but I know you will all still have fun without me (even though it will be difficult).
