Adventure Van Expo

Anyone going to this weekend's Adventure Van Expo Mt Hood? We'll be up at Mt. Hood Meadows on Saturday. It'd be cool to meet some other local (ish) forum members. Sounds like it's mostly about Sprinters but we'll be there representing the E series crowd.

I’m planning on going up for a few hours. Haven’t yet decided whether Saturday or Sunday.

Yep... it was a stellar weekend for it. We were up for 3 hrs on Saturday and met some cool people and saw a lot of $$rigs$$. Sportsmobile had a good presence and showed the Classic as Otter has illustrated. Met Mike and Caren who are in line for one and wishin they'd hurry up... that's going to be a cool ride. Who's great lookin rig with hard top was parked behind SMB booth? Pretty sure we saw YoterryH's rig parked back by ours but no one home. PDX's Roambuilt had a good showing... wish they were doing stuff for the E Series. Good Times up on the mountain.

That was me! I camped both Friday and Saturday night and had a really great time. Lots of friendly folks to talk to, lots of cool rigs to look at, and really a nice atmosphere all around, which made for a great event.

My buddy came up on Saturday to hang out and check out the show and we tried to ride our mountain bikes up the access road and were busted for riding on the gravel road by the Mt. Hood Meadows mall cop-type dude, complete with flashing lights and a blip of the siren! Seemed a little much, but oh well.

No, didn’t see them. It was a relatively small gathering with a couple of big guns like Sportsmobile and a bunch of smaller upfitters. Not too much for the DIYers. Hein and Kim of Thinsulate fame were there from Hood River, nice folks.

Except for the Classic, the vendor area was wall-to-wall Sprinters. And maybe a Transit or two.

I enjoyed looking at other attendees’ vans and found one like mine. Their home built interior was nicely done and I got some good ideas.
