Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

This fall got away from me and I didn't follow up on this. Sorry! Maybe we can get something in the spring. Location ideas include:

Shenandoah Natl Park, Virginia
Assateaque Natl Seashore, Maryland
Lower Vermont, like Stratton area (national forest there); Grout Pond is nice, and free, for example.
Adirondacks, NY

Or, piggyback on some other compatible event.

Natl parks can be challenging due to campground restrictions, space availability, etc.

Obviously there is a wide geographic disparity here. Maybe there needs to be a New England one and a mid-Atlantic one, for example.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm right in the middle, and anyplace interesting is 4-6 hours from me, so I'm flexible.

Well, I started this thread, so I guess as some point I better do something to get it rolling! I'll probably wait until early spring to revisit the idea. Not as many obvious places to do this as out in the west, but Shenandoah might indeed be a good destination. The campgrounds there don't have any group spaces available for vehicles, though, as far as I know (group sites are walk-in/tents only I believe). Maybe there is something in the nearby George Washington National Forest that would work.

Maybe start a poll? We stayed at Sherando Lake in GWNF last May and it would be worth looking at. Not sure if they offer a group area. Sherando is just outside the BRP on the north end.
