Re: Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

We'll be in Highlands NC and Lake Fontana NC (Bryson City) 6-6 thru 6-11. Then, 4 weeks in New England mid-July thru mid-August. We'd be in for any meetups that are available.

Re: Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

maybe we need two different meet ups at two different times - an East Coast North and an East Coast South event.

barring that, I'd nominate the outer banks or someplace near the Delmarva Peninsula if we could only have one.

Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

Outer banks are on my short list for this year.

Re: Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

Here is an easy one:

Spring Fling is WPBO’s annual celebration of bird migration. The event is held each year during the last weekend in April. Life listers, photographers, and novice birders alike will enjoy this weekend at Whitefish Point. Spring Fling includes bird walks, field trips, a banquet, and more!

This is held in Michigans U.P. on the shore of Lake Superior. We stay at Tahquamenon Falls S.P. Electricity only at that time of year. Park can be about 5-10% full. Can little to several feet of snow. Would be fun to see and meet anyone with an SMB.

Pretty cool, but the UP is a bit far for a NE meet up...

Re: Any interest in a north-east US meetup?

For the East Coast, Shenandoah looks like the most centrally located option. People from both the North and the South could make it in a day's drive, a longer day for some than others, but generally a day.

For the Northeast proper, I'd probably say upstate New York in a state park, but I think we have more Mid Atlantic members than Northeast members, so somewhere near D.C. or Norfolk or Shenandoah is probably best.
