Just curious what kind of rig you owned Karl. I live 30 mins south of Pittsburgh in Eighty Four. I'd love the chance to see a fully loaded up 4x4 Sportsmobile up close. I've got all sorts of visions about my dream build... Ford 350 EB... some day.

RV show is going on this week, heading there tonight. Went to Cleveland's the other day. Wish they showed COOL RVs! I've been thinking of crashing one of the expedition / Sportsmobile rallies in the northeast, maybe take the dual sport and camp so I could talk and gawk.

We're still doing the family thing with our three young sons. We've got a Roadtrek Sprinter 3500 pulling a 7X20 Quicksilver VRV Livin' Lite toyhauler... fun in its own way.

I don't think you can crash an SMB meet.

You'd simply be welcome, as any interested party has been welcome at every SMB meetup I've been to.

Slammer: We have a 2013 4x4 EB50, fairly well loaded up. I would be happy to show you our van. PM me if you would like to see it someday.

Another idea for a location: Confluence, Pa., right near the Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail. There's an "Outflow" campground there that is an Army Corps site right on a lake, with many electric sites. Fills up fast though on nice weekends.

This is about 5-6 hours from Philly and is close to Pittsburgh. Not sure how that works for everyone.

I'd recommend Tub Run if you guys are coming up into this neck of the woods. It's about 30 minutes from Outflow. Outflow is pretty cool with the dam right there (hence the name Outflow) and the little town of Confluence for beer and other things like food (if you're into food)... Anyway, Tub Run is actually on the dammed up portion of the Youghiogheny. There is a sandy (man made) beach there, a few sites along the creek (within a foot or two at a few of them), it's a much more "in the woods" type campground. We camp there all the time. There are a few electric sites, but most of the sites have no hook-ups. The swimming there is great.

Another option if you want to be within a 5-10 minute drive to Ohiopyle Falls (class III and IV rapids) is Kentuck Knob. Very wooded as well and there is a 1 mile bike trail that leads right down onto the Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail (the rail trail from Pittsburgh to D.C.). That bike trail will also take right into Ohiopyle Falls area.

The area has a bit of rock climbing, a lot of rafting & kayaking, great hiking, nice local pubs, etc... It's a great location. Fort Necessity, Washington's Tavern, Nemacolin Resort (casino, off road hummer course, rock wall, etc...). 7-Springs Resort (downhill mountain biking, alpine slide), Laurel Caverns (guided and unguided). If you guys decide to head this way, I'd be glad to help out in anyway I could. Plenty to do in these parts. And after visiting here, I'd head south another 2 hours and check out Canaan Valley WV. There is a lot of forest road between here and there. We take our dual sport motorcycles all over these woods. Fun stuff!

I don't own a Sportsmobile (yet)... and I may crash your party. Just look for me, I'll be the one with drool pouring out my mouth!!!

I can second Ohiopyle , Pa. Great place if you like to bike. You're now near my neck of the woods.

Kentuck Campground at Ohiopyle State Park has about 200 campsites

Anywhere in PA is a pretty day's drive for me. I'm in if it happens. Any decent campground is going to have a group site right? At least they do in my part of the world, and they are rarely used unless it's perfect Spring/Fall weather so we wouldn't all have to think too hard about reserving, etc.
