Re: Anza Borrego over New years (Was Mojave)

I want it.. whether they will give it to me is another question.. My insurance paid a lot of money for that - although granted most was for the installation.

Little? That thing looks huge.

Re: Anza Borrego over New years (Was Mojave)

I need a shake down cruz in my brand spanking new SMB, so I may head out to Split Mt, to Olla Wash Sunday or Monday for one night. I still plan on joining the gang Dec, 28th or 29th for a couple of nights. If I do make it out I will report on the road conditions (not that it matters with these incredible machines), but Anza Borrego did get a bit of rain.

Pretty sure it's a bad idea to camp there if it rains

Cause of mud....or? I've certainly experienced the effects that rain has on the desert dust. Pretty sure we have more than a few winches and sand ladders in the group, it'll add a little excitement to the meetup!

No, because it's a wash and becomes a river. Only heard stories never seen it with my own eyes.

Was in Anza Borrego Ocotillo Area around Thanksgiving.. The conditions are nice out there after the rains..

Have Fun Guys! It's one of my favorites areas to camp.
It's a Big Area..
Here is a drone pic and video at the crack of dawn:

I haven't seen flash floods at AB, but I've seen plenty in other places. Nasty business. From the copter video it looks to be more of wide open spaces though.
