Since this was rather impromtu from the beginning, we figure it is to get the locals rounded up.

A great opportunity to extend Valentine's Day to brunch or lunch the next day !!

Re: Austin - Central Texas Meetup 15 FEB 2009

So now the question is where to meet.....

Do we go for a spot that is scenic and has room for a group of large vehicles?

OR

Do we go for a spot with some good eats?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

We have at least one more.... and maybe two...

And I let SMB TX know so they can help spread the word as well.

As much as I'd like to be there I'll be doing some work in the Feather River Canyon in California on that date...maybe next time around.

Re: Austin - Central Texas Meetup 15 FEB 2009

Hey there Scatter,

Well I went right through Blairsden last month. Union Pacific Railroad has a little project going on from Portola on down to Oroville replacing worn rail on the curves. You know how curvy the canyon is in some spots and it doesn't take long for the trains to wear down the rail going around those curves. I'm a Thermit Welder for UP and I weld the rail in place once it's layed on the concrete ties. I'll tell you what...you live in a pretty amazing place up there. Being on the side of the mountain and looking down at the river is breathtaking to say the least. Of course, I'm sure the view you have going on down there in Baja is much...um, warmer than here.

Ric
