You went through Cortez and did not go to Mesa Verde? Oh well. Next time. Thanks for the report.

Re: AZ to UT to CO, and back
Nice trip report, thanks! You travelled a lot of the same places we did on our last trip. We really loved the Telluride/Ouray/Durango/Silverton area. Oh, there IS great camping near Black Canyon, but it's a little east of there where 92 and 50 meet, maybe an hour east of the Black Canyon. Check out Soap Creek CG. It's one of the best we've ever stayed at, and there's plenty of boondocking along the river looking up at the peaks, but the good spots were taken when we were there.

Re: AZ to UT to CO, and back
86Scotty, its little comments like your's (and others)that make the forum trip reports worth wild. I like to Google-travel to spots and then plop them on my wish-list with a reference to where it came from. Cuz 2 weeks from now I wont recall. But when I pull up my map, there all 20-40 of them are, and I just plan the next run.
For me, finding a slow creek with a shady camp spot is like finding a penthouse room atop a 5 star resort.
Thanks for the hint(s).

As we neared Crested Butte, we began to see more and more sedans out for a scenic drive.

I've ridden with Zack a couple of times in Flag and Sedona. I checked out his sweet rig last week at the Bike-n-Bean.
Great TR!
