Banff/Jasper

It's been a busy summer. My wife and I hosted our daughters wedding at our place over Labor Day weekend. So my summer was filled with home improvement projects to get the place looking good. After the wedding, we needed a good road trip to alleviate the stress of it all. So we took a week and drove from Portland up to Banff and on up to Jasper on the Icefields Parkway.

We saw some snow and a couple of nights with temps in the mid 20's F up around Jasper.

Seems to be a reoccurring theme. Mice in the van. I think I have it figured out though. I always leave the slider door open in the evening while camping and I think the running boards give them an easy in. Up the tire, little jump to the running board and in. So once I got them cleaned out, we did a better job of keeping the door closed and it seemed to work.

Shameless plug. Go Beavs......

Highlight of the trip was meeting up with my buddy for a day of stream walking.....

Back on the road...

On the way home, we detoured through the Okanagan wine country of BC and the apple country of Washington.

Cheers.

We were in that same area on a similar trip last year. Very scenic. Thanks for the photos, they are a great reminder of our trip.

Fantastic shots. I'd like to get up that way one of these days. Thanks for the trip report.
Is it easy to find spots to disperse camp?

Thanks Dave.

No so much right on the Icefields Parkway. But there are some possibilities. But the farther you get from the Parkway, the easier it gets.

WOW, it doesn't get any better than that! Friends are posting pics of the Rockies now and I love the mountains in the fall. Thinking of heading that way next year this time... Longer drive from WV tho
Thanks for the daydream pics

Wait....you leave your slider open at night[emoji33]....heck, we're too paranoid not to go into full lockdown mode when we turn in, even in the most remote places, with seemingly no one else around for miles.....maybe even because of that. Anything I can do to avoid turning our trip into a nightmare, plus there's always those dang critters helping themselves....... anyway, great pics[emoji106]
