Big Bear / Arrowhead Camping Suggestions

Hi guys,

I have never been in Big Bear this time of year... only for skiing.
Now that I have the appropriate rig, I would like to go up there this weekend and camp. Can you guys point me to a couple of hopefully uncrowded areas up in the trees... easy to moderate difficulty (wife and dogs with me).

Is skyline trail a good option?
