I drove it last June and it was fine. However not sure if the fires got back there and did damage. We got to the trail by going through Montecito. It takes a good 2 hours to get all the back to the springs. there are two sets of hot springs. I like the further one since it is more desolate. There are several primitive campgrounds back there and I doubt you will have company.
You have to come out the same way you go in. It is easily passable in two wheel drive. You get to it off the East Camino Cielo Road. Have fun.
Jeffrey-there are several good trails back there. I have taken a few of them along the ridge (the Camino Cielo Road) to Refugio Road. THen take Refugio over the pass into Santa Ynez or down to the beach at Refugio State Beach.
