Bill, I've never made the turn to Snow Canyon, since when I'm that close to arriving at Zion, I'm focused. Your trip looks to be an out and back, same route. Don't forget about Coral Pink Sand Dunes State park just south of Zion Junction.

Snow canyon is great and the hikes are a must do. It should be great weather for most but could be cool at night.

How many days?

All three locations will be perfect for that time of year. Toroweep isn't all that rough. Just go slow the last 10 miles and you should be fine. If you go in from the Freedona side the road is very smooth until that last ten miles. The road from Colorado City also is pretty good. The road from St. George is a little rougher, but not to bad. I wouldn't worry about it if you have good tires.

Let me know your itinerary. Maybe I can hook up with you guys at one of those sites. I was in Snow Canyon in July. That was a mistake. It was 106 degrees. Too hot to sleep, so I just left and came home. Haven't been to Zion for a couple of years.

I hope you guys have a great trip.

Toroweep solo shouldn't be a problem. I've been 3 times, twice in my Tacoma and once in the van, solo each time.
Even that late time of year the road should get at least 10 vehicles a day.
A breakdown could be a severe inconvenience but you probably won't die out there.

Keep your plans posted, there's a remote possibility we could join you.
I missed out on tasting that Thai Curry at Valley of Fire last year.

Sounds like an interesting trip.

I drove past Zion from Denver on the way back home (OC) last week when I picked up my EB50.

Didn't have time to stop in but sure would like to explore it.

If more vans go and you firm up the dates we'd be game for a couple of nights.
