Camp Ground Recommendation

Mates,

Heading to Houston for the entire Thanksgiving week from San Diego this Friday around noon time, gonna try to get in about 7-8 hours of road time before pulling into a camp ground to call it a night.

Will be on the 8 and trying to figure out a decent full hook up camp ground to stay over, I am bringing an AC portable ceramic heater to combat the chill therefore please recommend a few good spots within the time/distance parameter specified .

Thanks for your help.

T

Picacho Peak State Park is a great place if you can get by with just electric. It would be about 7 hours from San Diego. They have great showers as well. Nothing else great until you get to Tucson AZ. From there, we stay at the KOA in Las Cruces MN.

There are plenty of small places to stop along the way in Texas. Kerrville is one of my favorite.

Balmorhea State Park is just a little ways off freeway. Cool natural spring.

Re: Camp Ground Recommendation

No problem. If you do stay at PPSP, bring food or stop in Casa Grande for food. Just a gas station at that exit.
