Camping suggestions Spokane to Seattle

Wife has a work thing in Spokane next week, planning to take bikes, dogs and kiddo for road trip and camping on the way back.
Anyone have any suggestions of cool spots between Spokane & Seattle? Would like something within an hour of Spokane for the first night, but not afraid to drive a bit.

I don't think you'll find good dispersed camping within an hour of Spokane. I see there are two state parks near Spokane - Riverside and Lake Spokane. Riverside is fairly close to town, but since there aren't any bridges over the river it should be somewhat quiet. Lake Spokane should be beautiful right now with all the recent rain, but it might be further than an hour.

For the return trip, I would stay north of I90 and maybe north of the river. It might be fun for the family to take the Gifford and/or Keller Ferry over the Columbia. There are some primitive campgrounds on the west side of Lake Roosevelt on the Colville Reservation. We have been to Rogers Bar a couple times in the past and it was really nice.

Camping near I90 sucks in general, either due to the terrain or crowds.

It’s a little out of your way, but Palouse Falls is likely to be stunning right now because of all this rain.

If you go see the falls, and it is worth it, but want to camp someplace nicer, try Windust Park on the Snake River south of Kahlotus, It is an Army Corp of Engineers campground and has nice shade trees and grass and is open year round. Windust is less than an hour from Palouse Falls, but further away from Spokane so it may not work for you this trip. The "camping area" at Palouse Falls is in the tiny parking lot at the falls.
