Here are some FYI's.
I did talk to the people at Dinkey Creek Campground ($23 per night). The CC will have two loops open through the end of the October. Its about 2,000 feet lower in elevation. There looked to be many boondocking locations around Dinkey Meadows, but then again there were a lot of no-camping signs as well.
If there are no visible landmarks (traveling at night or in fog), once you climb out of Huntington Lake, the turnoff to Sample Meadows from Kaiser Pass Road is about 2 miles
after (East of) Kaiser Peak Pass, so you are going downhill when you reach the turnoff.
If anyone has a Kenwood/Garmin GPS and would like a digital topo map that you can overlay into your onboard GPS, bring an SD card with you and I'll give you a copy.
