We got home Sunday from spending a week on "The Bruce". The Bruce Peninsula location is shown the first picture and it forms the western boundary of the Georgian Bay. The Georgian Bay is one very big rock bathtub formed by the Niagara Escarpment and as such the water is very clear, deep and cold.
It is a great place for scuba diving (many late 1800's ship wrecks) and backpacking. The small fishing village of Tobermory is at the north end of the peninsula and has about 500 winter over residents. The scenery is great, the tempo slow, and many things to enjoy. And no you cannot take your 4 wheel drive SMB out on the shore line trails.
Right side of the village
Left side of the village....thats most of it
No chunks of ice in the water so it must be above 32F.
No hook-ups. Sun Shower in action. We adults used the inside shower.
Kids will be Kids....very close to shore bottom drops off to 500+ feet.
U.S. Customs delay 1.5 hours to cross the boarder.
