Quick Update:

Caving:. Good news on the caving front. If there's enough interest, we can do a beginner caving option on Fri, 03 May, and an intermediate caving option on Sun, 04 May.

The Difference (No Experience Required for Either):
Beginner Caving: Mostly horizontal movement in the cave -- walking, stooping, and crawling. Definitely suitable for families with kids.
Intermediate Caving: All the above with the introduction of some elementary vertical terrain.

Fri caving will take place after lunch to allow those traveling time to get settled. Sun caving will take place in the morning and will wrap up around lunch time.

Looking like we'll have a bus or passenger van available to shuttle folks from the camping area to the caving link up point if desired.

A note on the caving link up point: Those traveling to the Sun caving option who hail from points East/Northeast/Southeast may want to consider traveling by their own vehicle to the link up point. Its in Franklin, WV, and along your route of travel. The same could be said for Fri arrivals who want to participate in the caving option before arriving at NRocks. Hopefully that makes sense to everyone.

MTB Shuttle: Confirmed for Sat. There will be a launch and recovery option. I'll defer to UpZMtn on which direction riders travel.

Catering: A local catering company could provide a simple dinner service (bbq, hot dogs, hamburgers, slaw, chips, drinks) on Sat, 04 May. Would set up with the band at the Welcome Center. Please let me know if this interests anyone and I'll get a quote.

Meteor Shower:. Worth nothing is the "Eta Aquarids" meteor shower takes place the night of 05/06 May. This part of WV is a great location to watch a show like that as its the "darkest place East of the Mississippi".

Overall Schedule:
Thur (02 May)- Early Arrivals
Fri (03 May)- Afternoon Caving Trip (with Shuttle from NRocks Option); Afternoon Canopy Tour and Via Ferrata Available
Sat (04 May)- Morning MTB Shuttle to North Fork Mountain Trail/Afternoon MTB Shuttle Recovery; Morning and Afternoon Canopy Tour Available; Mid-Morning Via Ferrata Available; "Day Old News" Plays at 6:00 (Catering TBD)
Sun (05 May)-Morning Canopy Tour Available; Morning Caving Trip (with Shuttle from NRocks Option)

Based on the schedule above, please PM me if you'd like to sign up for an activity on a specific day. Many thanks.

Heck of a job coordinating all this Lee! Think the catering is a great idea - we'll gladly sign-up for the BBQ. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Lee, thanks for the update! Please add me to the list for the Via Ferrata and caving. I'll update if I can convince any of my people to come along. They don't know what they're missing!

Catering for Saturday sounds like a good option. I'm still up for caving on Friday.

Updated Attendee/Activity List

Update on Attendees/Activities:
Many thanks for all the responses to date. I've broken everything down by day for each attendee group below. Recognize this is still pretty far out and there will be changes as schedules firm up. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to add or modify an activity. Given the strong interest in catering on Sat, I'm going to move forward with obtaining a quote. I'll let everyone know anticipated cost (should be minimum). For those still considering whether or not to attend, here's a link to last year's event.

Lee,

Thanks again for all. I'm still on board with Sun caving as you have it.
