Re: Forum Rally 09 May 11-15th in Moab

I would be up for it.

Can someone look into the White Rim Trail for reservations as Jeff mentioned?

I am swamped at work (been off the forum for 4 days straight).

Re: Forum Rally 09 May 11-15th in Moab

We're in too! Looking forward to seeing all the rigs and meeting everyone and swapping stories. We will be there eve. of the 12th, so keep the posts current as to where all are meeting up and camp info. We are planning on heading to Lake Powell with our boat from there after the rally, if anyone else has a boat or wants to rent one and join us out on the water for a few days, putting in at Bullfrog.

See you there!

P.S. does anyone know of a place we can dropoff/store the boat in moab while at the rally, I don't think I want to be hauling the boat around the trails with us.

We're going to try and make it. Will bring dirt toys if we show.

Has anyone considered where to go or what to do? Apart from meeting somewhere in Moab (that has not even been planned) nothing is set that I know of.

There are a couple of. RV campgrounds near trailheads.

We're out though. I have a week long training in the begining of May and a dirt bike trip towards the end of May, so May is tapped out.

Is there free camping anywhere we could have a large group? That 2wd can get to? I was thinking we should have a base camp all together and then we can go out and explore or hang out in groups.

Darn, I'll miss this one. I was in Moab for a week in April last year, and the whole place is awesome. Have fun!

Re: Forum Rally 09 May 11-15th in Moab

There is Archview RV Resort that I'd highly recommend you AVOID! I understand the owners were relatively new as of last May and they were jerks. They raised the prices on sites already reserved by my buddies, would not honor the price bargained for and where very jerky about it. I was unimpressed with their attitude when I spoke with them on the phone regarding my own reservations and ultimate cancellation (a seperate incident than the one listed above that involved my friends).

For free, I've often stayed at the Hole in the Rock rest area south of Moab. Its a rest area, but its clean and close to fun stuff.

I've been interested in this RV place for a couple of years now, but haven't spoken with them or stayed here: http://www.moabvalleyrv.com/ There is also a KOA in the area and several more RV campgrounds too. Now looks like I might be in the area, but I don't think it will be during May 11th-15th though, but trying to work it out.
