Four weeks in Baja

Some friends and I spend's the last two weeks in January and the first two weeks in February traveling around Baja. My van handles the rough and sometimes changing roads and washouts with ease. It was my first time there and found it to be an amazing place. I especially enjoyed being someplace sunny and warm instead of wet and cold. Am hoping to go back next year.

The full trip report is posted on our blog along with more photos.

Sunrise on Bahia Concepcion

Camped on the beach

So many beautiful beaches

Whale watching at Laguna Ojo de Liebre

Sunrise near Ensenada San Basilio

Bougainvillea in La Purisima

Sea of Cortez

Cave paintings

Boojum trees in bloom

Sunset on the way to Mission San Francisco de Borja

Always enjoy Threads sharing journeys...compels many of us to get out to do the same, for me it helps narrow down what to do first when I qualify for retirement. Great Pic's! Will definitely view your Blog. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! Thank you for sharing!

The Calamajue adobe ruins are faintly visible next to those rock walls, though they are pretty much completely melted away. At least they were when I last passed through 15 years ago:

The cactus forest (what I call it) you passed through after Calamajue on the way back to Highway 1 is one of my favorite areas of Baja.

Can't wait for the world to settle down so I can go back to Baja, although next time I will have a new addition to the family!
