Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?
If I start EMT training as scheduled in August I will be off the grid until December. If not, the north rim sounds like a great destination.
Regards,
Keith

I'm thinking about Zion for a couple of days before, then heading down through Fredonia.

Well then Keith, are we supposed to hope your EMT training falls through? What is the training for? I thought you were retired.

No, just posting some irrelevant information The class is full so I am going to crash it. If I don't get in we most likely will make the trip.
Yep, I am retired but someone has to take care of SMBer's (including myself) hours away from any EMS response. I don't intend to go back to work . . . ever!
Regards,
Keith

Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?
Put in a reservation for the Toroweap group site from 19th thru the 22nd of September.
I have a site on the North Rim from the 23rd to the 26th if anyone wants to join me there.
I'm planning on spending the 17th and 18th in Zion. But, I want to stay in the South Campground and it is first come first served, no reservations. I could reserve at the Watchman Campground, but I prefer the South.

Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?
Sounds great, looks like we're in for all legs of the trip as well. Planning our fall trip to lake Powell around that time, so we would be able to combine the trips. I'll bring the margs and the handy blender!
What activities other than overlook drives are planned, any 4WD trails to do around toroweap? Water access? Fishing? Hiking trails?
Kieth- Alex and I both have wilderness first responder training, albeit a little out of practice, (not to mention expired cards) but should take a little weight of your shoulders

Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?
Finally got confirmation on the group site at Toroweap, and it is a go!!!!
Anybody else want to spend some time with us at Zion (Sep 17-19, maybe the 15th and 16th also), Toroweap (Sep 19-22) or Grand Canyon North Rim (Sep 22-25). We have room for more, and the more the merrier.

Sounds really good.
Zion and North Rim are OK for 2WD -- how about Toroweap?

Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?
Hi Grey Dawg. See Mike's post several posts back on road conditions to Toroweap. I have 2W drive and am hesitant to drive to Taroweap. However if I was going with other 4X4 Sportsmobilers I wouldn't be too concerned since they could pull me out of any problem. Unfortunately I won't be able to make this trip.
Hope to see you at Zion.
Mac
