OK a quick trip report for the Gooseberry trip 2011.
I was able to get a ride in before the storms and had a great ride on North rim, South rim and Hidden canyon. Goose only did North rim and back to camp I did not want to blow her pads out the first day.
This is my favorite camp spot as you can hit all those trails without doing a bunch of double track.
This is at the Hidden canyon South rim junction. I rode it both ways and love that trail. Ya I did not stop for photos as the weather was coming in.
This is almost to the point on south rim trail
Ok the clouds started to come in and the wind really picked up. Then Don showed up and we made a fire and tried to stay warm by it. It lasted long enough to cook dinner then the sleet hit.

Then the snow all night. Cool to wake up and have coffee in a warmer then it was outside van.

Don was a little nervous with his sprinter and the road in so we moved to the end of Gooseberry road it was a better choice with all the wind and yes I somehow forgot to take more photos but I like the spot he took me to. Lots more trees and winds breaks.
The Sunday storm hit and the snow was really coming down and I was really wanting a burger from little creek station so we headed down out of snow and into rain. Oh ya Don in his sprinter did not want to get stuck also. I’m seeing a pattern with him.
So we headed to Red canyon by Leeds and still full from burgers I just did a little hike before the rains set back in.
We woke to clear skies and good coffee.
Really a pretty nice camp for a pay camp of $8
I decided to leave early and drive home to fix what Bella the rescue my wife brought home from Sedona had done while I was away. That’s another story that I was being updated on the whole trip. A 2 year old red healer mix that missed Goose and I and was havening fun.
