Half Moon Bay, CA, Dream Machines - April 27 & 28

Is anyone going to show their vehicles at Dream Machines this coming weekend in Half Moon Bay, CA? I saw my first Sportsmobile there last year -- and now am a proud owner of brand new Ford RB with Quadvan 4X4 conversion. And although I've been reading and learning a lot here on the forum, this is my first post. Brave new world...

I live about 2 miles from the Half Moon Bay airport, where Dream Machines takes place, so ordinarily going as a spectator is a no-brainer. But I'm taking a short SMB jaunt starting tomorrow, and may not return in time for Dream Machines. Unless, perhaps, others are showing their vehicles this year. If you are, let me know -- and which day (Saturday, Sunday, or both?). And if you think I should show (if I'm able) as well, can you tell me how you do that? Traffic is so daunting that I usually just walk there.

Robert, Small world just keeps getting smaller. I am just about 1/3 mile up the street in Moss Beach. I would love to come down and geek out, but the 4 hours of stand still traffic is a deal breaker .. I guess we could always get there earlier and leave late. Hot tip if you plan to go and are coming down the coast. Use Cypress st. to Airport street to circumnavigate the main bottle neck at the main gate. B sure to Say hello to Eddie A. for us

The last few years we have exhibited our van with Mr. and Mrs. YVRR. This year they are in Africa and we are not showing our van.

I might recognize you from last year, or maybe not. Age does wonders for the memory.

As Mike mentioned, we have had our van there the past couple of years. I dislike traffic and crowds but showing the van was perfect. You still pay to get in but get in before the crowd arrives. We then leave around 2-3 pm before the crowds really create problems.

May I ask what types of vehicles are at the gathering?

How many vehicles do they usually round up for the event.

I have never been but heard it really takes over the area.

thanks

All kinds, from steam engines to motorcycles to airplanes to SMB's to cars and more!

Hundreds and hundreds.

You should go once for sure.

thanks
