You could be logging the most epic historical winter dump of the century. Ray I really wish I could rally down with you. I hit St Helens for some back country Thursday and it was mid thigh deep on me and I'm 6'4". The tracks were more like a boat wake than snow. Glad you guys are having an epic trip.

Hey Brad! Yes, pretty epic season here in the Sierras. Roads in and out of Mammoth have been closed gif about 24 hrs. Non stop medium to heavy snow.

Amazing to see all the FWD (no chains), and AWD sedans spinning or high pointing atop 12 to 18" (or more!) of snow on the roads. They think they are invincible I will see if I can get done pics today.

Meanwhile, Beastie is happily getting us through the powder and keeping us very cozy at the Mammoth RV park. Anywhere that a boondock might even be a consideration is under five feet of snow.

Sleeping in the Penthouse w the top up has been all good with a the understanding that the icicles and snow have to be cleared off the gutter in the morning.

Moisture control inside was something we worked on for this trip. We have settled on a bunch of fake chamois to wipe down the surfaces was and we have a couple of USB powered fans to keep the air circulating. That keeps nearly all the canvas dry except for some moisture at the very bottom where the canvas meets the metal roof.

We have used the Espar D4 which keeps it really warm, but while plugged in to shore power at the park a 1200 watt small electric heater is sufficient, even w the top up.

I added a heated plate w two 25w / 12 vdc under each SOK206ah Li battery. A adjustable thermostat for each plate set at 35F on and 43F off has worked perfectly. The batteries are in an insulated box below the floor accessible from inside.

I wanted to add heaters to the holding tanks, gray water lines and valves. Did not get those installed, unfortunately.

Looks like we will hangout here in Mammoth for a bit. Just have to see how the weather plays out!

Ray probably a good move that you guys left here when you did as it has been a consistent weather event!

Roger! Thank you for everything!
Yes, timing was very good and allowed us to get into Mammoth before 395 closed. 1derGirl is a diehard and skied two days in cold snowy conditions. I hung out in Beastie

We skied together on Sunday when there was a break in the weather. Sunday afternoon/night the heavy snow returned. Fortunately we came down 395 to Timerider's beautiful place and tucked in. Yesterday and today on the mountain have been white out blizzard/ high wind conditions with nearly the whole mountain closed. Plan is to go back up to Mammoth tomorrow. Thurs and friday are suppose to be nice enough days.

After that we looking to start on the way to SLC on Saturday. But, weather and conditions are the driving forces now!

Ray sounds like you are getting some good windows in which to ski!
Does look like you have another window through Friday before we are hit
again.
The conditions look amazing and do hope to get out again soon,as it will be a nice
change from snow removal.
