Went to the Tetons two weeks ago to kayak the Oxbow and Two Ocean Lake. Left Saturday morning for the 2 1/2 hour drive to Jackson. We stopped for lunch in Jackson before heading into the Park.
We paddled the Snake River from Jackson Lake Dam to the Oxbow and then into the Oxbow itself. The weather was great. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Beautiful! We saw lots of waterfowl and a beaver but no other wildlife which is unusual.
A few pictures while on the Oxbow.
Beaver munching on water plants and keeping an eye on me.
Pelican in flight.

Got off the Oxbow just before a thunder shower hit. It didn't last long and was good relief from the heat. We headed for Colter Bay Campground and got lucky to get one of 5 spots remaining. Took a quick look to see where our camp site was and then headed to Leeks Marina for pizza and beer. The place was as packed as it's ever been.
Got back to our camp site and found another couple in our spot. They came in after dark and was told that if they could find an empty site then they could have it and pay in the morning. We didn't think about leaving something in camp, afterall, we had paid for it and figured we were good.
The couple was nice and offered to pack up their tent and move. There was enough room for the SMB so having them move didn't make any since. There were no other spots available. So we ended up sharing the site which worked out great since we were getting in late and planning on getting up early.
The next morning we headed for Two Ocean Lake. We spotted bear 610 and her cubs on the hillside
below Emma Matilda Lake. She was too far to take pictures so we spent about 20 minutes watching her and the cubs through the binoculars.
Again, the weather was great, a little hot, but we spent 5 hours paddling the lake.
Here are a few pictures from the lake.
Shoreline and surrounding scenery.
Momma and her babies.
Just the babies.
Damselfly on a reed. They were everywhere along the shore.
I realized I didn't take any pictures of the SMB on this trip. Here are a few from an earlier trip.
Having a little fun.
Bear watch on top of the SMB.
Heading to the Tetons again this weekend with our daughter and son-in-law for more kayaking and fun.
Thanks for looking.
