Key West trip
We just got home from a winter getaway to Key West. The weather was perfect, as always. We camped at the Knights campground on marathon key and was literally 5 ft from the ocean. I'll post pics later. We got some shots at the "Southernmost spot in the United States" there in Key West. Has anyone had theirs that far south?

Re: Key West trip
Hawaii is further south. The sign should read "Southernmost spot in the continental United States"

Re: Key West trip
We've had our SMB to the farthest South Point in the continental US (Key West) and the furthest North (Deadhorse, AK) and the furthest West (that you can drive to, also in AK) and the furthest east in Maine and the furthest East in North America on Newfoundland.
We've also been to South Point in Hawaii, but not with the SMB.
Why did we go? Because it is there.

Re: Key West trip
Not to hijack but South Point in Hawaii is worth the trip.

Re: Key West trip
What's Key West like? Would it be a fun place to live and work for a few months? I may have an opportunity this winter and I have no real idea of what it's like.

It's a great place if you're gay or rich,if you're just a working stiff it's really expensive to live

Re: Key West trip
I have a brother and brother-in-law who have lived in Florida for many years. Their take on the Keys is t-shirt shops and Mexican sea shells. They seemed to think there were many other better places, particularly for out-door types, from the Panhandle all the way around to Jacksonville ... just have to do your research and avoid the tourist traps.
Personally I have not been there (Florida) in many years, but figure to go soon.
Good luck.
