Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Shernie, I have not looked at the GoPro video yet but not happy with the battery life on it. Cut out on a full charge in and 1.5 hours or so. I'll post up if anything good.

Great trip halfway back up the mountain for a few hours today. Back in camp waiting for the hiking crew to return.

Rob were you in a blue SMB?
Tundra green actually, but in certain light it can appear blue. We had four bikes on the rear rack.

We are enjoying a nice thunder shower right now. Had great luck fishing today.

If you are still on the hill, I am sure the view of the storm is excellent.

Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Nice pics. One of my favorite runs on the east side but never really did so good fishing it. Never walked the lower lakeshore though. I'd love to be up there is some weather.

Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Awesome pics. I am thinking of escaping the smoke this weekend and looking for some ideas around Mammoth or the East Side to post up, fish, hike and/or mtn bike ride. Will Laurel Lakes be a junk show this weekend? Appreciate any suggestions!

Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Laurel would be great if you want to get away. I only saw 7 or 8 people the entire time I was there over 24hrs. You can stop/stay in a couple places on that road to mix it up.

Coyote Flats out of Bishop is amazing place you can spend a couple days and only see a few people.

Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Coyote was one of my favorite trips last year and there is a lot to see…..going back again soon to see what we missed.

Re: Mammoth & Laurel Lakes

Thanks for the tips guys, much appreciated. Laurel Lakes looks interesting to be able to satisfy a couple goals: camp on or near water, fish, and hike right out of camp. Looks like there are several lakes in the coyote flats area with fish - is there a specific lake that you'd recommend? Any other recommendations? Thanks again
