Thanks for the pics Chris. We stuck with the Rally until the 19th. I will concur with you on your assessment of the trip overall. Without GPS (took a crap early) Thank you Samsung! We needed to travel with another vehicle. This became tiresome and a burden on the other vehicle. Thanks to you and Arctic Traveler and Bill, Jarred and Nancy and Dan and Lori we were never lost. My left rear shock upper mount lost the mount bolt and bushing somewhere long before I noticed it as we aired up after our last day on dirt. Fortunately the brake line kept the shock from rotating forward and getting ripped off. Other than that and the cracked windshield we had not problems on the van's maiden voyage. I would not do this type of trip again personally. Too much road between camp spots. We did meet some fine people and this part of the world is unmatched for it's beauty.

Marret, glad to hear your travels continue, those are some great photos. I'm much like you in that I too enjoy traveling solo. That puts you on your own schedule with stops happening when ever and where ever you choose without having to consider others needs or desires. Then again, there is a certain enjoyment spending time with like minded travelers sharing a common goal. There's no doubt that the rally was both long and at times a bit challenging. I'd say though that the last two or three days made it all worth while with shorter days and spectacular scenery, including a river crossing on a reaction ferry. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more photos, safe travels........

Glad you made it through.

Agree, too much road between camp spots. Would have been fine on my BMW HP2E.

Great meeting you and Ruth and getting to know you both. Enjoyed the days we traveled together.

Thanks Jeff. Great meeting you both.

I do like solo travel, travel with my wife, and very small group travel with like minded people. I hate to say it, but the rally brought had too much of the things I dislike about group travel. I figured the last couple three days would be great, I just wasn’t willing to endure to get there. I did consider doing those on my own, but decided to do something else.
