Re: Meet and Greet at Valley of Fire, October 7-9,2011

Gee, Dave, good luck. At least you're near a dealer (not the blackjack one) and not far from VOF.

My rig is at the dealer today for new starter batteries. This will be my third set in just over 4 years. I realized yesterday that they were crapping out and today is the only day I can get them and still make it to Nevada Friday. You wouldn't believe what I had to do to start the 6L this morning, and in the rain, too....

I'm at the Valley of Fire in campsite 18. There are three non-SMB campers here already. So much for hoping we would have all of the campsites to ourselves. My cell phone booster doesn't work in Arch CG. I had to drives to Atlatal C G. See you when you get here.

Already have to change the route because of weather. Hwy 108 and Sonora Pass is closed. Since the campsite is filling up early it seems I will just drive straight thru - should be there between 6 and 7 tomorrow night.

Got new batteries under warranty, phew!

Bring the rain on! Too bad it will be clear this weekend. Some clouds and overcast is so nice. Maybe there will be some left for me!

Re: Meet and Greet at Valley of Fire, October 7-9,2011

I have been in town since Sunday - I've enjoyed the wind & rain, motored the streets on the Triumph and scored a new/old bike.
Its been a good week so far and I expect a fun weekend.
I plan to show up noonish on Friday.

Make way for the QuadVan! *cough*

Five of us here last night. Rained solid for three hours. Absolutely gorgeous today. Six more expected today. Cell phone booster working great except between six pm and six am.
