Re: meet up in Los Angeles Hollywood Area

I would be in.
I would suggest Hungry Valley OHV by Gorman.
only about 1hr north of LA with any level of 4x4 lots of camping space.
maybe take gold coast rd to top of Alamo Mt
late October is best for me.
off to Burning Man tomorrow

Someone else also mentioned Gorman.

Sounds good to me.

Don't forget to vote on the poll.

Re: meet up in Los Angeles Hollywood Area

Poll trending at 3 for Sept 15th weekend at Gorman/Hungry Valley Park. The campground with the off-road 4x4 area is Aliklik I believe. Easiest to access by Smokey Bear Road exit off the 5 and in the back entrance to the park if coming from the South. If coming from the North you can use the main entrance near the town of Gorman. There is a fee for day use and for overnight camping. Ther are no hookups or running water but there are toilets.

I may try and get out for a Friday night camp out if anyone else is interested.
Eric

Also just to add as mentioned poll is trending not set in stone. If more folks want another date and/or location fine by me. Just want something to happen.

Re: meet up in Los Angeles Hollywood Area

So far only 3 smb owners have placed input on the poll and all 3 are in favor of Sept 15th sat 10am meet.

Anyone else out there please vote for a date/time. There's still time to vote. I listed a few options on the poll to try and accommodate everyone. The more the merrier.

Anyone opposed to Gorma btw?

Seems like a great place.

I might be enticed to come out to Gorman depending on the health of my dog

Re: meet up in Los Angeles Hollywood Area

Sorry we cannot make it that weekend, plus we are still only 2wd.
You might want to state if 4x4 is needed or not for the meet.

Have fun and enjoy your meet...

A date hasn't been set yet.

Just place your vote on the poll.

We haven't all decided on Gorman yet either.

Plus, I've never been there, can anyone comment if 4x4 is required to access the campsite in Gorman?

Sorry I thought you were picking September 15th.
I will check to see when we might be able to go and post it on the Doodle page.
Since we are coming from the bay area a camping spot for at least Friday night might be nice.
