Museum parking in Denver

Went to an Easter Egg hunt at the museum today. Saw a really nice 4x4 van by Boulder4x4. It was parked with yellow curbs on 3 sides so I'm assuming it was someone who works there.

That wasn't the story though. We'd taken the van ourselves and parked out where we thought it would be easy to later come back and open the side doors for a nice little lunch, take advantage of the beautiful day before the hour drive home.... well no such luck. Everybody got to pile in the driver door and we ate with only the windows open listening to people walk by and go "oh my god" and "look at that".

I had to back over a curb and drive over a bush just to get out, but that eco nut sure showed me!

Hey, I'm an eco-nut, but you can't tell from my van (except for the solar panels).

Did you flatten their tires?

In California they make some businesses paint all their parking spots wider than regular for all vehicles not just handicap folks and those are sure nice for van owners. Most of the regular spots though are so small you can't get the barn doors open if you park normally...that sucks coming out of the store with a load of groceries. I usually take two spots myself leaving enough room on the passenger side but I try to park out further where no cars park.

Now I'm seeing parking for special vehicles. Because I'm smaller than a big RV can I use the compact car space? And my van has solar power so can I use the electric car space? I have yet to use the other spot and if I have to, something has gone terribly wrong
