The truck is probably more capable than the Sprinter. Size is the only issue. My Sprinter has a 12' wheelbase, is 19' long, and just over 9' tall. It has less ground clearance than your truck, I assume.
There was never a place on this trip or the AZ BDR that I thought the Sprinter was in over its head, so the truck would probably be fine.

Thanks... and I'm the first to admit that SKILL trumps the actual tool.... so you in your Sprinter.... are likely safer than me in my truck.

our rigs are similar size, sort of. I have the 8' bed, crew cab, so longest F350 out there... about 20 feet long, plus the Hallmark hangs off the back about 2 feet.

we are 8' 10" tall.

I would carry a pair of MaxTrax, and probably a 1" Yankum kinetic recovery rope.... just as insurance.... also knowing I could possibly gently yank out someone else who was stuck.

I also know that weather / rain / floods can instantly change things a ton.

good to know the trip might be within the zone of possibility.

thanks!

LOS ANGELES,
hello neighbor..lol
I concur with velo47. You should be fine. if you have any question about covering ground and your alone then it's a no go. As I recall he had a detour when there was a question about road conditions.
As I mention in my 24 turn around yesterday to Sierras I saw plenty of Sprinters. non of them looked very "high" clearance. If you question about a rock or high point remember drive up and over it, keeping "it" off line of your differential......lol
Enjoy your vehicle and get out there and have fun. All this from Burbank, CA
velo47 question: what time of year did you make your trip? Spring things look pretty green in the high country.

2 weeks ago. It's pretty green but drying up fast. Fire danger is high, in fact there were 2 burning in the general Gila NF area and a big one in AZ just over the border.
