I'm sure your van will make it! What's the worst that could happen?

Re: NorCal Sierra 4x4 Meet

Argh. Stoopit work. Got a meeting I can't miss Friday afternoon, so we won't be getting up there until late Friday night.

But, the new plan is to take Monday off and stay Sunday night, so if anyone wants to hang out a bit longer...

Re: NorCal Sierra 4x4 Meet

Bummer on the Friday meeting

Our current planning is to get into camp area late Wednesday afternoon June 18 (might slip to Thurs morning) and leave either Sunday or Monday. Could use some guidance on the preferable area (site/sites) for us to stake out for the group.

Anyone else heading up on Wed or Thurs?

I'm sure it'll be terrible. You probably wouldn't like it.

I'll be up there. I plan to hopefully grab my normal spot (in red) but it might not happen. My buddy Don is planning on going unless he has some kind of family issues. He can set his tent up to the next closest camp to save for somebody. I might bring another small tent to do the same. The loop I'm hoping to be in can hold several vehicles. The other side of the lake fills up quicker as it's down by the lake. The Spot to the N/E is a single to three van site but the two I pass by to my usual spot can also can hold a few vans.

I still haven't found out if fire restrictions are in place. Weather can be tricky. Last year it was hot with day temps about 80 to 85 then 70-75 at dusk and cool nights. It can get down to freezing temps fairly easy so bring warm gear just in case. It can get windy at any time. I'm bringing my propane fire and my SMB trailer... maybe wood if they allow fires.
